The NEST is a boutique mental health and wellness clinic located in beautiful downtown Stillwater.  We are a professional group of licensed mental health providers who are committed to helping individuals, couples and families experiencing personal, emotional, marital and psychological concerns.  We enjoy working collaboratively with our clients to make meaningful change.  While we specialize in concerns related to the reproductive cycle across the lifespan, we also work with a wide variety of mental health conditions in men, women, adolescents and children.  Our team includes experienced licensed mental health providers who take a proactive stance in providing integrated, holistic care with plans tailored to your distinct needs.  From traditional psychotherapy to personalized coaching plans, The NEST offers boutique, specialized care in a welcoming baby and family friendly environment.  We know you are unique and we will treat you individually.  Our mental health and wellness program is designed around you and the phases of your life.  All are welcome at The NEST.

Harmony Carlson, PsyD, LP, CPLC, SBD

Dr. Harmony Carlson is The NEST founder, clinical director and practicing Licensed Psychologist specializing in perinatal and women's issues.  She has five amazing boys; four on earth and one she carries in her heart.  She works collaboratively with clients, families and health care providers to develop a tailored treatment approach.  Harmony is certified in perinatal loss care through Hospice and Palliative Care and is a Stillbirthday birth and bereavement doula.  Her own experiences with adjustment to parenthood and child loss drive her commitment to providing compassionate care while working to reduce stigma associated with maternal mental health.

Dr. Melissa Laraby is a Licensed Psychologist specializing in integrative approaches to mental health and well-being that combines traditional psychotherapy with complimentary healing practices such as mindfulness meditation and yoga.  Melissa strives to meet the individual treatment needs of each client and views herself as facilitating her clients in their healing process.

Kaelyn Folstad, MA, LPCC

Kaelyn Folstad is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor specializing in trauma-informed approaches to addressing child, adolescent and adult mental health.  She enjoys working with a variety of individuals, couples and families utilizing an eclectic combination of interventions to best meet client needs.  She has extensive experience working with clients identifying as part of the LGBTQ+ community, those navigating personal and relational challenges, and family system transitions.  Kaelyn strives to come alongside clients and families to help find hope and healing through the therapy process.

Jenna Wieden, PhD, LP

Jenna (she/hers) is a clinical psychologist who works with adults and teens to address issues related to stress, anxiety, depression, navigating life transitions, relationship dynamics, sex and sexuality, and grief and loss.  She approaches her work with non-judgement and openness in effort to create a safe and secure space for all clients to explore difficult areas of their lives. U sing a blend of both insight and skill building techniques, Jenna strives to create a unique and client-informed therapeutic experience for every client, and she incorporates mindfulness and DBT techniques into her work as a way to strengthen the mind-body connection and to improve overall health and wellness.

Erica JW Kanewisher, PhD, LMFT

Marriage and Family Therapist​

Dr. Erica Kanewischer is a Couple and Family Therapist specializing in couples and marriage counseling.  She works with couples around relationship struggles, communication problems, affairs, stress and divorce decision making.  Dr. Kanewischer also specializes in working with helping professionals dealing with stress, compassion fatigue, secondary traumatic stress and burnout, Discernment Counseling and Premarital Counseling.  She has been working in clinical settings for 15 years and has an array of experience with youth, adults, individuals, couples and families.  Dr. Kanewischer assists clients in gaining insight into their experiences, finding new ways to cope with stressors and gain new skills.  She draws from Experiential Therapy, Emotionally Focuses dTherapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy.  Dr. Kanewischer received her Master's degree from Seattle Pacific University and her PhD from the University of Minnesota.  She has also taught at several local Universities and Colleges in undergraduate and graduate programs as well as worked as the Chief Operating Officer for a nation-wide Employee Assistance Program. D r. Kanewischer is a nationally approved supervisor.

Matthew Lindberg, MA, LPCC

As a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, Matthew’s approach is client centered.  He works hard to meet the client where they are.  Matthew also utilizes a holistic and family systems approaches.  He is Adlerian trained and utilizes mindfulness based stress reduction and yoga when appropriate.  Matthew also draws from CBT and DBT skills.  Matthew is trained in EMDR and works with clients who have experienced trauma.  He has 18 years of experience in the mental health field working with individuals of all ages.  Matthew works with individuals who struggle with anger, anxiety, attention, autism, depression and substance abuse.  He ale also enjoys working with parents and family systems.

Alise Novak, PsyD, LP

Dr. Alise Novak is a licensed clinical psychologist devoted to joining her clients and their families in their journey toward healing and mental health.  She has many years of experience working with diverse children (infancy through adolescence), families, and adults in varied capacities to address issues related to anxiety and mood disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorder, trauma, and family/parenting challenges.  Alise's practice at The NEST is focused on supporting those impacted by infertility and perinatal issues, such as anxiety, depression, grief, and trauma.  She has specialty and a unique clinical understanding as her own journey towards parenthood was disrupted and challenging.  Alise values developing a meaningful therapeutic relationship to promote a safe space where clients can process, make sense of their story, and feel empowered towards acceptance, change, and healing.  She also considers herself both a clinician and an advocate for her clients.  Alise actively supports and advocates for clients across environments, not just in the therapy office. She does this through collaboration with other providers and assisting clients in accessing aditional resources and supportive services.  Alise is an active memer of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine and has received focused certification in the treatment of reproductive mental health issues.
