Therapy for the LGBTQ+ Community

Gender identity and sexual orientation are just part of who you are as a person. Yet as a member of the LGBTQ+ community, you may face many challenges because of it. You deserve to have access to a therapist that affirms who you are, just as you are.

It’s been found that members of the LGBTQ+ community experience disproportionate levels of challenges with mental health concerns. This includes things like daily stress, anxiety and depression as well as unique challenges related to your identity and/or orientation. There is help available in a safe, non-judgemental place.

The NEST is accepting of everyone regardless of gender, orientation or identity.

We have licensed therapists on staff who specialize in working with members of the LGBQ+ and TGNC+ community. We understand it can be difficult to talk about these topics. Our team will never rush you into sharing things that you’re not comfortable with or ready to talk about.

Life is full of challenges...

but members of the LGBTQ+ community often face challenges that the heterosexual community does not. This can lead to increased risk of mental health concerns. It can also make it difficult to find others that understand what you’re going through.

The NEST mental health professionals work to tailor treatment options to the specific needs of each individual. That means your therapist isn’t going to have preconceived ideas about what’s best for you. They will listen to you and work to customize your therapy to your unique situations.

Some of the situations The NEST team is able to assist with include:

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Gender dysphoria

  • Substance abuse

  • Mental health disorders

  • Self acceptance

  • Relationship challenges

  • Processing past trauma

  • Negative impact of discrimination

  • Emotional health & wellness

Our staff can also help with assessment and documentation for gender-affirming treatments and surgeries.
